ParentSquare
With the start of the 2023-24 school year right around the corner, the Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) will be using a new communication tool to share information with families.
What is the new platform?
On August 1, 2023, Rocklin Unified will begin using the ParentSquare Communication Platform. ParentSquare provides a seamless experience for families to obtain school/district news, activities, and events from their children's schools in one place. Rocklin Unified hopes that ParentSquare's intuitive, two-way platform will foster greater communication and family involvement and better reach families that predominantly speak languages other than English. With ParentSquare, school staff, and parents can engage in both one-to-one and group messaging with real-time language translation.

Note: RUSD has used the SchoolMessenger communication tool for several years; this platform will be discontinued on September 15, 2023. There may be some overlap and limited use of both tools until then. Secondary schools and students will still use Schoology.
Why is RUSD moving to ParentSquare?
The selection of ParentSquare was made after RUSD received feedback from the Rocklin Unified School District's (RUSD) Local Control Accountability Plan's (LCAP) Parent Survey and from advisory groups about the need to improve and streamline how the district and its schools communicate with families and students. Rocklin Unified believes ParentSquare will help streamline the different ways the district, schools, teachers, and coaches communicate with students and families into a single, versatile platform to ultimately provide an easier way for families to receive and communicate with schools.

We understand change is not easy and will take time for families to fully use ParentSquare.
