Summer 2025 - Middle and High School Student Chomebook Checkout Dates

 
Rocklin Unified School District continues to require all 7 - 12 graders to bring thier district managed Chromebook each day. All 7th grade students will be assigned a district Chromebook prior to the start of school. If your student does not have a Chromebook they have already have a Rocklin Unified District Chromebook, they will be assigned one this summer prior to the start of school. Chromebooks will be the responsibility of the student and kept year-round until they graduate or move from the district. Both Granite Oaks and Springview will be sharing information to families on the dates for this pickup. To ensure that all students have access at all times, students must use District devices while on campus, personal devices or BYOD will not be supported.  For any information please reach out to your school or our support desk at 916-672-3600 
 

Chromebook Protection Plan Insurance Available Soon

 
As students begin to check out Chromebooks for the 2025-2026 school year Rocklin Unified is proud to announce that we will continue to offer our Chromebook protection plan to families. The Chromebook protection plan gives families peace of mind to make sure that breakage or loss is covered through the school year.  

All students who have a Rocklin Unified School District Chromebook checked out to them and have not purchased the protection plan for the 2025-2026 school year will be sent an optional invoice via My School Bucks beginning August 12. This invoice will come to all parents whose students have a Chromebook so that they can purchase this protection plan directly from their phone or computer. If you would like to purchase a plan before the invoices are sent out, please go to the Chromebook Protection Plan link and follow the directions for the MySchoolBucks store. If you check out a Chromebook for your student after this date, please go to our MySchoolBucks Store to purchase insurance.  Invoices will not be sent out after August 12. For more information please call or support desk at 916-672-3600

Subject: Important: Chromebook Insurance for School Devices
 
Dear RUSD Families,
This message is for all families who currently have a school-issued Chromebook without Accidental Damage Protection insurance.
 
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, after all incoming 7th-grade students have received their devices, we will be running a report of all students who do not currently have Chromebook insurance. An email will then be sent to these families through MySchoolBucks with an invoice to purchase the insurance.
 
While this insurance is optional, please remember that families are responsible for any damage to or loss of their student's device. Purchasing this insurance can protect you from these potential costs. All new Chromebooks will be covered for the first 30 days, but after that, you will be financially responsible for any damage or loss.

We want to remind all graduated students to take a moment to ensure they have access to any files stored in their school Google accounts. Transferring these files to a personal Google account is essential to maintain access after graduation.  Accounts will be suspended on October 1, 2025
