Superintendent's Message

Roger Stock, Superintendent
I am excited to begin another great school year. New hope and possibilities abound! It has been my pleasure and honor as I enter my fifth year as your Superintendent to serve this community and you in our mutual pursuit of providing the finest education possible for the students of the Rocklin Unified School District.

Our District is recognized as one of the outstanding school districts in California and the United States. Locally we are known as the Cornerstone of Educational Excellence in our community. We are known for strong academic performance and a balanced educational program that demonstrates the highest levels of success by our students in academics, arts, and athletics. This is achieved by strong leadership from the Board of Trustees and by the hard work and talent of all of our employees in partnership with our valued families and community. Our goal: Ensure the success of all students. We will accomplish this together by innovatively looking to support our schools and classrooms to ensure each of our students is ready for real life: college, career, and citizenship in the 21st Century.

We have a clear vision, which is achieved by setting and meeting goals, with some fun and excitement thrown in to keep it all interesting for you, our RUSD Family. We know our role in each of our student’s lives is a crucial one.  To say we are the champion for each and every one of our kids is an understatement. We take this role very seriously. As a life-long resident of Northern California with over 20 years of experience as a teacher, principal, and district leader in the San Juan, Elk Grove, and Sacramento City Unified School Districts, I have also had the opportunity to watch Rocklin grow and flourish. On a personal note, my wife who is a special education teacher and I have four children all in public schools. Two at public universities, one who is a senior, and our first grader. This provides me with a personal investment in believing in the positive power of our public schools.

I am grateful for your support and continue to seek your ideas and feedback so RUSD remains a vibrant place to be and a special, destination district!

Sincerely,
Roger Stock
