ROCKLIN, Calif. – August 25, 2021 – The Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) is proud to announce nine elementary schools will be honored for their dedication in the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) by the California PBIS Coalition

Associate Superintendent of Education Services and Elementary Schools, William MacDonald, said, “Rocklin Unified is focused on providing a supportive environment for all students and remains committed to offering positive intervention that will meet their unique needs. Having nine schools receive awards in all levels is exceptional and shows the commitment to ensuring the implementation of the PBIS framework.”

In order for schools to receive recognition by the California PBIS Coalition, they are rated in seven areas of PBIS implementation: 1.) Effectively teach appropriate behavior to all children; 2.) Intervene early; 3.) Use of a multi-tier model of service delivery; 4.) Use research-based, scientifically validated interventions to the extent available; 5.) Monitor student progress to inform interventions; 6.)Use data to make decisions; and 7.) Use assessment for three different purposes.
