Technology Services

The Rocklin USD Technology Services Department is a team committed to transforming and supporting 21st century learning environments, plus enhancing the productivity of our operations. Several technologies we support include the following:
  • Local, Wide Area, and wireless (WiFi) Networks
  • Windows networking and Google Apps for Education
  • Data Center and server operations
  • Data management and integration
  • Many district-wide applications, including the student information system
  • District owned desktop and laptop computers, Chromebooks, iPads, iPhones, iPod touches, and AppleTVs
  • Printers
  • "Digital Classroom" Audio/Visual systems
  • Procurement: Ordering of all technology equipment, software, and repairs
Recent and significant accomplishments:
  • 2013-14 - Implementation of an online Learning Management System (Schoology), and Google Apps for Education
  • 2014-15 - WiFi in every classroom, over 45 new Chromecarts (about 1,800 Chromebooks) provided across all school sites
  • 2015-16 - Over 550 new laptops provided to every teacher
  • 2016-17 - Over 100 new Chromecarts (about 3,500 Chromebooks) provided across all school sites
In our ongoing commitment to further transform learning, over the next 18 months the District Technology Services Department will continue to refresh PCs, printers, and modernize classroom Audio/Visual systems. 
 
In addition to accessibility and robust on-line tools, staff development and adult learning are critical components to 21st century schools and learning. Rocklin USD's efforts are supported via our district and school Strategic Plan(s) and our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
